I’ve been working on my archery skills lately… Not obsessing, which is unlike me, however, I got things to do these days…
The archery course is very much like a golf course, just with landscapes that have things that actually grow in the landscape you’re in. It’s more like a hike with targets.wolfgangdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/
The targets are usually pictures of animals… Squirrels, turkey, rabbits, deer, a boar, and I guess for fun they throw in a moose.. You know because Moose run wild here in CA, gotta keep it real. There’s a bullseye, which would be the heart, and sometimes there are 3 dimensional targets.
So far, if I was up to my bow skills to feed myself, the first time I went, obviously I’d starve… Most would, traditional archery is quite a honed skill. Today I saw hope. Within 3 shots I’d hit the animal, I had 2 kills, but really, as a fighter, I may have been able to eat today. I may not have hit the targets in the kill zone, but I did hit them in places that I feel would “put the fight in em” thus charging me. As long as I stick to turkeys, rabbits, and squirrels, my new hunting strategy may be, shoot, piss it off, it charges, I fight it, and hopefully come out on top. I admit, The squirrels would give me quite the challenge. I’m not fighting a moose, however, today I did hit it in the butt, and one at the top of its neck where I would assume a wolf mother would pick it up at if it had a moose cub. So moose hunting is out this season.
Thus today I may have eaten if’n I was in the woods having to rely on my trusty bow. I guess in the woods vegetarianism isn’t always a choice.
